git中的user.name和user.email具體有什么用處？

之前我一直以為適用于驗(yàn)證用戶的，但是今天我在碼云上提交了一個(gè)私有的repo，突然發(fā)現(xiàn)git的user.name和user.email是之前github的，結(jié)果發(fā)現(xiàn)是可以提交的，那我就想著name和email到底有什么用的，只是表明提交人的姓名而已嗎
